Foodies Galore!!!!!

Monday, November 12th, 2007

As Singaporeans (well at least most of us), one of the key concerns is WHERE CAN WE GET GOOD FOOD? Popular votes has been the famous Banana Leaf Nasi Padang, the Japanese Food and the home-made iced lemon tea just at the coffee shop downstairs (how convenient). Venturing further, there is a french restaurant at Fortune Centre called “Basil Alcove” that serves French food at an affordable price. Yes, we have many discussions of where to eat…

Settling in

Set2

It has been about 2 weeks…. we’ve gotten most of the things up and running… except for some drilling in between… and getting used to the new surroundings. Some of the furniture trickled in…we have a “dining” table, a “kitchen cabinet”, a “wardrobe”. It really almost feels like home. (Except that the wardrobe is used to store cables, books and what nots). Oh yes, we have shower facilities. Plus a little small basin for the future office cat to do its business. We’ve started having presentations and had our first office lunch. Two rooms are still work in progress , one of them being Wally & Ray’s. Guess we have to hear their discussions over the island for now…

Set3

Ooh… check out our “clubby” toilet lights. Can fight with MOS! According to Wally, they consume 180 watts. To justify the power consumption (Save the earth!), he is installing a dimmer.

The Move!

Move1

Everybody was activated… to move from Purvis to Waterloo. Thankfully Hin Hee managed to borrow her mom’s big white car to help move the little stuff over. The Purvis office looked pretty manageable for the move. But once we started putting stuff into boxes, one really wonder where did all these things come from! Well… Hin Hee was glad to get the excuse to drive and we sure were glad that the aircon was working really well.

Move2

It was tough stuff, packing and moving the WHOLE DAY!!! It was substitute gym sessions for Ray and Jael. But we sure had fun moving. As we carried the boxes past Miss Clarity Cafe, the manager was truly sad to see us go…

Memories of old office

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Clowning around… Yeah… the office is full of wacky people… with all our quirks and sense of humour. Eva bought for all of us the bubble tubes to relive our childhood memories. Ami taught us how to make water bombs of it - truly eye opening. Blossom sure had fun blowing bubbles the traditional way!

Mem1

On another occasion, Hin Hee and Blossom were demonstrating how to count from 0-10 ‘”Kawaii!” style. Here is no: 9!

Mem2

Our official uniform is Threadless Tee shirts (Just kidding)… but we ordered a whole box of it… =)!

Reno in progress

Reno1

Wally is now officially known as Wally Kang. All he needs, is a pair of yellow boots. As Ami puts it, he is “into decor”. Wally does have an eye for interior decor. The gorgeous lamp is sourced from the back streets of Balestier Road. The entire process of getting quotes and dealing with contractors was arduous… burning many weekends for Wally and Ami. Truly a labour of love.

Our new neighbourhood is rather quirky… its the Arts & Heritage District. A stone throw’s away is Sculpture Square, Singapore Art Museum and lots of artsy place. Ooh… inspiring!

Unpacking on Monday

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

Unpack1Monday morning arrives. Office is a total mess. Unpacking officially begins… so does the circus acts. We were folding the bubble packs as if they were blankets. To make the tedious tasks more fun, trolley pushes, photo poses sure made the time fly past.

Unpack6

No we are not bullying our youngest member on the team, Kimberly … we were just asking her to sort the cables. The faster we get these done, the faster she can get back to illustrating. Heh.

Get There

We all took a recce trip there… to check out the neighbourhood …

Ooh… there’s a coffee shop at the ground floor… and getting there is quite a maze.

Therefore… we created a ROADMAP. haha. (click on it to see a bigger pix!)

The First News of Moving

Monday, August 6th, 2007

Wally just dropped the bomb. We’re MOVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, we’ve been pretty packed with new people coming in - bumping into each other often. If we continue like this, we’d be a can of sardines. Ha.

Yay, look forward to moving…
